To make 5 metres of bunting, I used:
- fabric (I bought 1 metre of cheap polycotton and still have masses left over!)
- 5 metres of piping cord or string
- PVA glue
- pencil
- zig-zag scissors
- cardboard (for triangle template)
Draw a triangle on piece of cardboard to create a bunting template. Lay your template onto your fabric and draw around it. Repeat this until you have enough triangles for your bunting.
Using the pencil guidelines on your fabric, cut out your bunting triangles. Using zigzag scissors (or pinking shears) will stop your fabric fraying.
Lay your piping cord on a flat surface and prepare to glue your first bunting triangle. Brush PVA glue all across the top edge of the triangle and fold it over the cord. Brush a little extra glue across the join to ensure that the fabric is secure. First bunting flag complete!
Decide how much space you want between each fabric triangle - I left 10cm between each flag.
Continue until you have glued each triangle to the cord
.Leave the finished bunting to dry. (You might need to add more glue to the fabric if it comes unstuck.)
